Supplies and coordination

My TPN (IV Nutrition) supplies arrive Thursday nights. Sometimes as late as 8pm. But last week I went on the beach trip and we left Thursday morning. Everyone jumped in to help. The home health nurse came Sunday to get my blood work. The pharmacy sent my supplies on Wednesday. So Wednesday night I made a bag for each day. I had already written the list of what I needed on each bag, so I wouldn’t forget anything. All I had to do was put the stuff in the bags and off we went with TPN on-the-go. Take-out TPN.

I’m grateful to the people who helped get it to me early. And the friends at the beach (a CNA and a nurse) who helped handle the sharp needle to get my vitamins into the TPN. That part is not my strong suit, but they handled it and helped me get all the other steps done every night.

For home organization, Anthony bought this set of drawers to keep it all in. The home health nurse really appreciates it. Easy to find what she needs. And easy every night when we set up my TPN or fluids.

Warm towels

As I’ve mentioned a few times, I get chilled and I love heated towels. As Anthony has it figured, 6 minutes in the dryer gets them just right and they hold the heat long enough. I put one under me and one on top of me, then pull up the covers.

And an hour later I’m awake and flinging things off of me because I’m so hot. But it is wonderful to go to sleep so toasty warm.

My gifts

I have received a blanket made by Chris and Connie (ConMcCon). A quilt made by Barb, a prayer shawl made by the women at the church my Dad’s widow attends, and hand warmers from Krista. I love them all and being as cold natured as I am lately, I use them all. Thank you my friends for loving me so well! These are just a few physical samples of all the love I’ve received over the years.

Notice Blue had to be part of the picture. He likes all my gifts too. They are comfy.

Isn’t that quilt beautiful?

Mom also thinks they are all beautiful and kept coveting my quilt and blanket. Well, Charlotte got a blanket made for Mom (very cool purples) and Aunt Elaine and her daughter-in-law Liz made a quilt for Mom. She’s made out well, my friends.Thank you for loving my Mom because you love me, and because she’s lovable.

My bed

My Aunt Elaine and Don brought oner an adjustable bed. It is so comfy and I really need the elevation of the head some nights. I don’t think it’s the TPN, I think it’s the food I eat, but I do get a little feeling of reflux once in awhile and sleeping like this is much more comfortable. It’s also more comfortable for my back.

My BlueTooth

That’s a cat, not a technology. He really wants to lie down on top of my wafers, so we have an ongoing battle over that He eventually settles for getting settled lower down and then he puts his paws on my bags as if to imply he still wins. 🙂

Waking up to find he’s sleeping with me is always so nice. Of course, I get up a few times during the night so he eventually opts for Anthony instead.

This photo has him actually in the bed on top of me.

Prayer

Prayer has been such a blessing. Especially in the past few months as I recovered from 2 surgeries, tried to figure out what I could eat, and dealt with end of life issues.

This is a prayer chair my Aunt Anne promised me. I’m bold enough these days that I asked if I could go ahead and have it so she brought it on her last visit. A comfy place to kneel and pray or read a devotion.
